Abstract
Chilean novelist Isabel Allende enters history through the lives of people, from everyday life, so
the kitchen becomes one of the main tools of writing. The study of all his literary work provides the
knowledge of the resources the author used to achieve it. This research demonstrates the utility
of gastronomy in the literary exercise.
