Abstract
In this article, we will establish a comparative study of the figures of the rumberas and ficheras in the context of the films starred by them, in order to observe the differences and continuities they offered to Mexican cinema through dec-ades.We will also analyze how the genre features of both variants works in two prototype films of those years, Víctimas del pecado (Emilio Fernández, 1951) and Bellas de noche (Las ficheras) (Miguel M.Delgado, 1975), made under the sponsor-ship of the family of producers Calderón
